19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
Rev. Andrew Sanders will join our congregation as our new Pastor on July 9, 2023. Lexington United Methodist Church as been paired with Grace United Methodist Church in Higginsville for many years. While we will continue to support our neighbor, beginning July 9, 2023, Lexington United Methodist Church will be paired with Waverly United Methodist Church. We look forward to this new transition and working with Waverly. Please help us welcome Rev. Sanders to both churches. We would also like to thank Rev. Rob Allen and his wife, Jenny, for their service and wish them well in their new appointment.
Hello! My name is Andrew Sanders. I answered a call into ministry within the Missouri United Methodist Conference in 2009. Since then, my wife Julie and our two girls, Destiny and Drew, have enjoyed the journey that has brought us to different congregations and now to Lexington.
I grew up in Southern California moving to Missouri at the age of 14. After graduating high school I joined the Missouri Army National Guard where I served as a (44B) Welder for 8 years. I am an Iraq combat veteran. After returning home from Iraq I became a welding inspector for 3 years before answering my call into ordained ministry in the UMC. I attended seminary at United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio. I have been in the ministry for about 14 years. First, as a Full Time Local Pastor and on June 11, 2022, I was commissioned as an Elder in the United Methodist Church.
Both our daughters, Drew and Destiny, love art. Destiny is 23 years old; she is a healthcare worker. Drew is 17, she will be a senior in high school this year. Drew is an aspiring actress. She has played many parts in productions all around Missouri and Iowa. Her dream is to be on Broadway one day.
Julie and I have enjoyed 23 years of marriage. We are high school sweethearts. Over the years I have been honored to have Julie by my side as a partner. Julie has been a pastor in the Mo UMC for 12 years. Julie has accepted appointment with Grace United Methodist Church in Higginsville and Concordia United Methodist Church.
For fun we like to hike, spend time with our dogs, our girls and anything else that draws us outside.

Hello! My name is Rob Allen and I am the pastor here at Lexington Untied Methodist Church. Let me be the first one to welcome you to our site and our church family!
I have served in ministry for a little over fifteen years. The past 7 years in pastoral ministry and the 8 years prior to that in music ministry. In previous vocational settings, I worked in all aspects of emergency services as well as an insurance claims adjuster.
My wife, Jenny, and I are new to Lexington having moved here in 2022 from a community in which I have spent nearly four decades, but moving is nothing new to me. I grew up as a "military/government" brat attending 13 schools in just 8 years!
Jenny and I have been married since 2010. We have one crazy Australian shepherd mix and a nearly 19-year-old cat, both of whom still live at home. We have one son, Ray (22), who is a Chef and lives in the Kansas City area.
We worship together every Sunday morning with Sunday School beginning at 9:30 and Worship beginning at 10:45. Come join us for coffee and donuts before the service! If you have any questions about our church, please call the church office or email me directly.
Until we come together, God's blessings on you.
~Pastor Rob and Jenny Allen
